The Story
This linear account documents the healing and ultimate victory of Patient #10. Patient #10 faced off against a formidable Venous Leg Ulcer, in a 14-week battle for the return of daily mobility.
Part I: The Summer Siege (The Beginning)
The wound care story of Patient #10 began on August 26, 2025, when Patient #10 discovered a Venous Leg Ulcer had taken up a substantial position on her right lateral lower leg. The Venous Leg Ulcer was entrenched, measuring 5cm x 5.5cm, with a depth of 0.3cm and guarding the wound bed was a layer of unstable black eschar.
Patient #10, wanting to reclaim her health, enlisted the specialists at Healing Touch Wound Specialists, LLC, and their initial strategy involved sharp debridement to strip away the Venous Leg Ulcer eschar defense and the application of medical-grade honey to suppress biofilm.
The Venous Leg Ulcer launched a fierce counter-offensive in early September:
•Expansion: By September 5, the ulcer had grown to 5.5cm x 5.7cm.
•Inflammation and Pain: The territory around the wound became reddish andpainful, forcing the Patient #10 to endure 5/10 pain levels during debridement.
•The Exudate Obstacle: The antagonist produced heavy exudate, saturating thePatient #10s foam dressings.
•Biological Resistance: Patient #10 had to fight while managing systemiccomorbidities, including hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and chronic lymphedema.
Part II: The Advanced Offensive (The Middle)
By October 3, 2025, it was clear that conservative measures had hit a stalemate. Healing Touch escalated the battle by deploying a powerful biological reinforcement: Vendaje AC, a human amniotic/chorionic membrane allograft. This advanced tissue was chosen to promote rapid cellular repair. Throughout October, the tide turned in favor of Patient #10, despite the Venous Leg Ulcer’s attempts to distract her:
•Systemic Diversion: On October 10, Patient #10 suffered a secondary attack ofcellulitis in her right hand, requiring an Emergency Room visit and antibiotics.
•Steady Progress: Despite this, the Venous Leg Ulcer was shrinking, reduced to4.4cm x 5.2cm by October 10.
•Victory of Spirit: By October 17, Patient #10 was in a "good mood" as theedema in her leg vanished and the wound reached 4.2cm x 4.7cm.
•Goal Achieved: On October 31, Patient #10 reached a major milestone; theVenous Leg Ulcer had decreased by over 50%, shrinking to 2.5cm x 2.5cm.
Part III: Fully Healed
The final chapter began with one last struggle. On November 21, Patient #10, overwhelmed by itchiness and pain, removed her compression bandages. This led to a brief counter-attack by the Venous Leg Ulcer of new skin breakouts.
The ally, Healing Touch Wound Specialists, LLC, moved swiftly to beat back the Venous Leg Ulcer’s counter-attack:
•Clinical Pivot: They halted the grafting process as the antagonist was now toosmall 1.3cm x 1.1cm to require advanced biologicals.
•Final Defense: Healing Touch applied wound gel and utilized Doxycycline tosuppress any final signs of infection.
The Venous Leg Ulcer was defeated and Healing Touch Wound Specialists, LLC discharged Patient #10 from specialize wound care on November 28, 2025:
•Total Defeat of the Antagonist: Upon removal of the final dressings, Wound #1was confirmed to be completely healed.
•Patient #10 restored: The secondary skin breakouts had also achieved fullclosure.
•Formal Discharge: Patient #10 was described as "delighted" and was formallydischarged from specialized wound care to return to her normal life.
The 14-week saga concluded with the total defeat of the Venous Leg Ulcer and a triumph for Patient #10, the Healing Touch team, with assistance from Patient#10’s home health agency and the primary care physician.
By November 14, the Venous Leg Ulcer was in full retreat, reduced to a mere 1.5cm x 1.5cm a 91.67% improvement since the start of Healing Touch Wound Specialists, LLC’s campaign.
