Is mobile wound care covered
by insurance?

Yes, mobile wound care is typically covered by Medicare Part B and most major private insurance plans. Because we provide "medically necessary" specialist care, it is billed similarly to an office visit. Our team will verify your benefits before your first appointment so there are no surprises.

Why choose mobile care over a traditional clinic?

In Las Vegas, summer heat and traffic can make traveling to a doctor’s office exhausting and even dangerous for those with compromised health. By staying home, you:

  1. Reduce infection risk by avoiding waiting rooms.

  2. Save money on specialized medical transport.

  3. Heal faster in a comfortable, low-stress environment.

Do you provide care in the patient’s home or facility?

Yes. Healing Touch Wound Specialists is a mobile wound care provider. Our specialists come directly to the patient’s home, skilled nursing facility, assisted living community, or other care setting—eliminating the need for unnecessary travel.

How is care documented and communicated to my provider?

Our team provides thorough documentation for every visit, including progress notes and treatment updates. We maintain clear communication with referring providers and care teams to ensure continuity of care and informed clinical decisions.

Do I need a referral to start treatment?

While many of our patients are referred by their primary care physician or a home health agency, you can also contact us directly. We will coordinate with your current medical team to ensure a seamless transition of care and verify medical necessity for insurance purposes.

How frequently will visits be scheduled?

The frequency of wound care visits is determined by the severity of the wound. For most patients, visits are scheduled once a week. However, in cases where wounds are more complex or require additional attention, visits may occur more frequently. During this time, we provide home health orders to the agency registered nurse along with wound care education to the patient and/or caregiver, ensuring they are equipped to manage the wound appropriately between our specialized wound care visits.

How is this different from Home Health nursing?

Home health agencies provide generalized nursing. We are specialists who focus exclusively on the wound, and we work closely with your home health agency to ensure they have the instructions on how and what products to use to change the patient’s dressings.

Do I need a referral to receive wound care services?

Yes. a referral from your primary care physician or home healthcare provider is required, and we will work closely with your primary care physician and home healthcare agencies, hospices, and care teams to make the referral process simple and efficient.

Will your team handle insurance and billing questions?

Yes. Our experienced administrative and billing team assists with insurance coordination, billing, and related questions. We aim to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for patients, families, and providers.

Where can patients access your wound care services?

We provide mobile services throughout the entire Las Vegas and Henderson area. This includes North Las Vegas, Summerlin, Enterprise, and Green Valley. If you aren't sure if you’re in our range, just give us a call!

Can you perform procedures at my house?

Yes. We perform many of the same procedures found in a clinic, such as debridement (removing dead tissue), application of skin substitutes, and Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (Wound Vac) management. Our providers arrive with all the necessary sterile supplies and equipment.

What should I expect during the first visit?

Our provider will perform a comprehensive assessment of the wound, review your medical history and medications, and take baseline measurements/photos. We will then perform the initial treatment and create a personalized "Healing Plan" that includes a schedule for follow-up visits.
